German: Prednison
An immunosuppressant drug of the glucocorticoid family. It is used in the treatment of certain cancers, such as Hodgkin’s disease. It is also used an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of arthritis.
Why would an immunosupressant be used for cancer?
That is a question many people ask, and alternologists usually use this to show that doctors are intentionally killing their patients, since -as they say- “everybody knows that the immune system must be strengthened.” They are wrong. Diseases like Hodgkin’s disease are diseases of (part of) the immune system. Making it grow faster, is only going to kill the patient sooner. By slowing down the immune response, the patient buys precious time during which the cancer can be attacked on a more fundamental level.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a free lunch. During the treatment, the patient must be extra careful to protect herself/himself against infections.
