Michael (Mike) O’Brien is a British politician who became Minister for Health Services on 8 June 2009.

In this position, he was interviewed on Monday 30 November 2009 by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee for its report “Evidence Check 2: Homeopathy“.

During this interview, the Committee asked him whether the Government had any credible evidence that homoeopathy works beyond the placebo effect, to which he responded: “the straight answer is no”
